About The Author:
Alan Postlethwaite is a chartered engineer who took early retirement from the electricity industry to become a railway author. A lifelong lover of railways and model railways, he has designed layout plans for homes, clubrooms and gardens and has also had seven books on railways published, mainly featuring the Southern Railway. He lives in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
